Do I need a professional to install my EV charger?
Yes. A qualified, locally certified electrician should install your charger. ON-EV supplies the unit; we don't arrange installation. Book a certified installer once your charger arrives.
Which countries do you ship to?
We ship to 27 EU countries, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Spain and Italy. Every EU order ships from our partner warehouse in the Netherlands, not the UK, so it clears customs faster and arrives sooner.
What's the difference between a tethered and untethered charger?
A tethered charger has a cable permanently attached - you just unclip and plug in. Untethered has a socket so you supply your own Type 2 cable. Most home users prefer tethered for convenience. Untethered suits you if you drive more than one EV or want a cleaner look when the car isn't plugged in.
What's the difference between a 7.4kW and a 22kW charger?
A 22kW charger needs a three-phase electricity supply, standard in most EU homes, and charges about three times faster than a 7.4kW single-phase unit. Check your fuse box rating or ask your electrician if you're not sure which supply you have.
Do I need permission to install a home EV charger?
Requirements vary by country and property type across the EU. In most cases a home charger doesn't need special permission, but confirm with your installer or local authority before ordering, especially for apartments or listed buildings.
Can I use my EV charger with solar panels?
Yes, and it's a great combination.
